Family Office conversations often begin with discussions about capital allocation and investment opportunities. At the recent JABOY Elite Private Wealth Summits in Dallas and Fort Worth, those topics remained front and center. We’re grateful to JABOY Founder and CEO Neil Greene for his continued partnership and for creating opportunities for members of the Family Office Access community to contribute to the programming and broader conversation. Attendees explored opportunities across private credit, real estate, energy, insurance, alternatives, and the growing influence of AI on investment strategy.
Yet many of the most meaningful conversations extended well beyond portfolio construction.
Representing ISS Market Intelligence at the events, Danielle Patterson, Executive Director of Family Office, engaged with Family Office leaders, wealth managers, entrepreneurs, investors, and other private wealth professionals navigating a rapidly evolving environment. While investment themes remained front and center, several conversations ultimately centered on resilience, relationships, stewardship, succession planning, and what it means to prepare the next generation to manage wealth responsibly.
Together, these conversations offered a valuable perspective on the priorities shaping today’s private wealth and Family Office communities. Here are five key takeaways.
What All Modern Portfolio Strategies Have in Common
Private credit continued to be a recurring theme, alongside energy infrastructure, real estate, insurance-related opportunities, and investments tied to the growth of artificial intelligence. Across these discussions, attendees focused on opportunities that align with long-term objectives while offering diversification, flexibility, and access to areas beyond traditional public markets.
Long-Term Decision Making in Uncertain Times
Throughout the summits, conversations frequently returned to resilience in a world shaped by uncertainty, economic shifts, and evolving market dynamics.
For many Family Offices, resilience extends beyond portfolio construction. It includes governance structures, decision-making frameworks, family alignment, and the ability to maintain a long-term perspective through periods of disruption and change.
Attendees shared perspectives on preparing for unexpected challenges, building durable organizations, and creating foundations that can adapt over time.
Succession Planning & the Great Wealth Transfer
As significant wealth continues to transfer across generations, many families are actively considering how best to prepare future leaders for their increasingly complex responsibilities.
Today’s Family Offices are placing greater emphasis on developing the judgment, confidence, and leadership skills required to steward wealth responsibly over time.
Women Continue to Shape the Future of Wealth

The growing role and influence of women within wealth management and Family Offices was another notable theme throughout the week.
One highlight of the Dallas summit was the Women in Wealth panel, moderated by our own Danielle Patterson. The discussion, From Wealth Creator to Capital Steward: Claiming Agency in the Next Chapter, featured insights from leaders including Thomasina H. Williams, Founder of Sankofa Legacy Advisors, Kelly Ann Winget, Founder of Alternative Wealth Partners, Lisa McCurdy Founder of The Wealth Counselor, and Kristin Thomas, Founder of Marble Collective.
Rather than focusing solely on investment outcomes, the conversation explored influence, responsibility, leadership, and the evolving role women continue to play in shaping the future of wealth. The dialogue continued in Fort Worth, where additional discussions examined how families can better prepare future generations to navigate complexity while remaining connected to the values that helped create wealth in the first place.

Underlying both conversations was a powerful question:
What are we truly preparing the next generation to inherit?
Beyond investment discussions, participants also reflected on the importance of mentorship, creating opportunities for others, and helping future leaders find their place within the industry. These themes reinforced the idea that stewardship often extends beyond capital itself.

Relationships Remain Central to Family Office Success
Perhaps the most consistent theme throughout the summits centered on relationships.
Family Offices operate within a highly relationship-driven ecosystem where trust, reputation, alignment, and long-term commitment influence decision-making. Whether discussing investment partnerships, governance structures, succession plans, or next-generation development, the human element remained central.
Furthermore, the strongest relationships are rarely built around transactions. They are built on trust, shared experiences, and a commitment to creating long-term value. These conversations reinforced an important reality about the Family Office community: while capital remains essential, relationships often provide the foundation for long-term success and enduring impact.
Looking Ahead
If there was one consistent takeaway from the JABOY Elite Private Wealth Summits, it was that conversations about wealth ultimately become conversations about people.
The themes that surfaced throughout the week reflected a community thinking not only about how wealth is invested, but also how it is sustained, managed, and passed forward.
As Family Offices continue to grow in influence and private wealth investors play an increasingly important role across the investment landscape, understanding these priorities will be critical for organizations seeking to engage this audience effectively. Success depends on understanding both where capital is moving and the values, relationships, and long-term objectives that shape decision-making.
